About The Searle Record
Sardis Chapman of Southampton Massachusetts compiled one of the most complete family trees of the Searle Family anyone anywhere has ever done. After decades of genealogical digging, Chapman presented his genealogical research to the Searle family at a reunion of the Searle family in Southampton Massachusetts in 1886. Starting with the progenitor, John Searle, who was one of the earliest settlers of the town of Springfield, Massachusetts; "The Searle Record" contains hundreds of Searle descendants and collateral lines. These collateral lines include Pomeroy, Clark, Root etc. All name spellings and dates are as they appear in Chapman's work. Where I have changed a date, spelling or detail, I will provide a reference to the primary document upon which the change is based. I have completed my line down through to myself. If you would like to to provide genealogical information to complete your line, I will add it. I will not not include birthdays of living persons.
